Fingal County Council

The County of Fingal was established in 1994 and has a population of 273,051. The rate of population increase between 2006 and the 2010 census is 13.8%. The population is among the fastest growing in the state and Fingal is the youngest County overall.

The last known number of persons from minority ethnic backgrounds residing in Fingal was just over 40,000, this being 17% of the total population of the county. The majority of immigrants have arrived within the last ten years.

Fingal County Council is committed through its Corporate Plan 2010-2014 to developing inclusive sustainable communities and to enhancing the quality of life for all the residents of Fingal. Fingal Development Board, through its Social Inclusion Measures Committee ,works within a multi-agency framework to look at the needs of all sections of society. This in turn allows for the identification of gaps and overlaps in service provision throughout Fingal.
